Chief of Staff General Valiollah Fallahi (1931 - September 30, 1981), was a prominent figure during the Iran-Iraq war which lasted from September 1980 to August 1988.
On Wednesday 30 September 1981 he died with several top commanders including Gen. Javad Fakouri (Air Force Commander), Gen. Yusof Kolahdouz (Acting Commander of the Revolutionary Guards), Brig. Gen. Seyed Musa Namju (Defence Minister) and Commander Jahanara in a plane crash that was due to land in Shiraz after take off from Tehran.[1]
